Kaithias meets with Salla at The Scoundrel and Goat. There he learns that Mericta has been up to something in the Thieve’s Guild and the presentation of the forgeries convinces Salla that Mericta had hired the assassins to kill Faelar in order for Mericta to become the new leader of Charing. Salla admits to not knowing who to trust anymore in the Thieve’s Guild but that he will be trying to recruit loyal soldiers to turn against his brother. Kaithias returns to the Inn and informs the others and it is decided that they should inform the Guardians of the first three assassins that Mericta was able to identify.
Meeting with Alewen doesn’t seem to bring about much, as she requests they take down the identified three while she searches for the other missing nine assassins. The party makes their way towards Iba Lim’s home, where the assassins have been staying. Meeting him at the door, the party is let inside where they meet an assassin under the name of Aela (I think, correct me if I’m wrong). At the insistence of seeing her companions (also don’t remember their names), she seems to immediately suspect that something is wrong and attacks.
Kaithias, who had traveled around the back and attempted to lay a trap hears the fighting from within and quickly hurries to assist through an open window. Corsibane succeeds in catching some of the backup in a poisonous cloud as they enter the room. Thorvalla squares off against Aela, eventually knocking her out. She turns to assist Icarus who has been viciously exchanging blows with an archer. Kalarg rushes into the room in attempt to help but then stands back, claiming the party was more than capable of handling themselves. Thorvalla then steals Icarus’ kill, and he angrily informs her so. Seeming apologetic towards him, Thorvalla moves on and they take down the final assassin and tie up the unconscious Aela. The party nearly loses their prize, however, when Icarus makes moves to end her life. He is stopped only with the promise that there will be more later.
